Four Seasons Bora Bora
When I picture heaven it frequently has my staying in one of these overwater bungalows. It’s an amazing place to stay with spectacular views of some of the most beautiful water on the planet.
Imagine waking up and taking a morning snorkel off your front step. Then lounging on your private patio while eating some local fresh fruit and taking in some sun as you nod off for a mid-morning nap.
I don’t know what your morning routine is but I’d bet dollars to donuts that it’s not half as good as this place. It’s frequently rated number one on the top bucket lists or top travel destination wish lists and it’s easy to see why.
You have your choice of views either of Mount Otemanu, the lagoon or the beach. I think you should try all three just to see which you like best, right?
The inside of these bungalows are straight out of a Crate and Barrel Island style magazine add. Everything is covered in rich woods and local weaving’s, impeccably adorned.
The bath has an open air feel while still providing privacy. An extra large bath is surrounded by louvered walls and a rock wall for your privacy but you can still feel the island winds cooling you off as you lounge in the tub as it caresses your body.
All the amenities are at your finger tips, plush towels, soft bathrobes and hand towels for all your needs.
The organization of the bungalows is a work of art in itself. There is a large boardwalk that leads to various bungalows each situated for maximum privacy and enjoyment of the islands surroundings. There is a large roundabout at one end of the walk that juts out into the ocean hovering over the azure waters.
The rows of bungalows give you a sense of island community without having to worry about nosy neighbors. You can chat with your next door mates or pretend you’re the last people on the island. It’s all up to what type of experience you want to have.
When you see those crystal clear waters you can’t help but day dream about snorkeling with the fish, floating atop the water and taking in all the underwater world has to offer. Then you can swim up to the white sand beaches to towel off and sit under a tall palm tree like you never had a care in the world.
There are also several options for dining including the Arii Moana, Tere Nui, Fare Hoa Beach Bar and the Sunset Restaurant & Bar. If you don’t want to go out they also have in-bungalow dining. However if you want to celebrate a special occasion you can arrange a Taurua romantic diner for two.
Arii Moana overlooks the peaceful waters of the lagoon with a view of Mount Otemanu in the distance. They specialize in a blend of Polynesian and French traditional foods as well as ultra fresh seafood and succulent meats. This is a little more formal dining experience so you may want to show up in more than your board shorts and flip-flops.
Right off the beach, Tere Nui provides an open-air dining experience. They’re open for breakfast at 6:30 am and close at 9:30 pm. They provide their featured farm-fresh breakfast, hearty lunches and with weekly themed dinners that include a popular grill and Mediterranean night. You can sit indoor or out depending on what you like for the day.
If you just want to quench your thirst or grab a quick bite to eat the Fare Hoa Beach Bar has an assortment of fresh salads, sandwiches and delectable deserts which include pan-seared red tuna salad or a marinated curry shrimp. The attire is casual so you can wear whatever you like.
The Sunset Restaurant & Bar is perfectly named. You can sit back after an exhausting day of whatever you felt like doing and knock back a few drinks in this social gathering spot, or you can snuggle with your special someone on the over-water terrace seating and watch the sun slowly set into the horizon.
They have a collection of Asian-inspired dinners as well as an intoxicating list of cocktails.
Far above room service, the Taurua romantic dinner will dazzle you with a special evening for two. First up is a romantic Plynesian-style dining experience where you are surrounded by once-in-a-lifetime scenery where you’ll dine on the ocean-side terrace of your private bungalow or the white-sand beach where you’ll enjoy the impeccable Four Seasons service. So whether you enjoy this romantic dinner in your bungalow or on the soft beach sands it’s sure to leave a vivid picture in your head for a long, long time.
