World Record Swimming Pool

San Alfanso del MarThe San Alfonso del Mar in Chille has set the world record for the largest swimming pool. It’s the world’s largest salt water lagoon, swimming pool just sounds too small for this wonder. The lagoon measures 3,323 feet or 1,013 meters in length and covers an area of 20 acres. It contains 250,000 cubic meters of water and is simply magnificent. Imagine a pristine lagoon that’s the size of 6,000 8-meter swimming pools with white-sand beaches. Your allowed to take small boats, kayaks and other small flotation devices on and navigate the seemingly endless boundaries. The hotel features an endless list of activities including:

There’s little chance that you or you children could get board at such a wonderful and adventurous place. I’d love to be able to spend a week or more hear enjoying all the activities. I feel so torn between all the activities in their man-made lagoon or the beauty of the near-by ocean or exploring the countryside. I guess you could spend multiple holidays enjoying the hotel and all it has to offer.
Here’s a shot of the hotel and grounds from space. What amazed me is that there are still additional swimming pools in the surrounding areas. What an age we lie in where itSan Alfanso del Mar Arial View can be a reality to enjoy luxuries like this that in days gone past where only enjoyed by the wealthy and aristocracy.

While their breathtaking lagoon may be cutting edge their web site is anything but. It’s appears to be five to six years old in the technology. With a large landing page for language preference you then pop open a new window with the content as well as a pop-up advertisement. The site just feels clunky with the navigation images and difficult to navigate. The site just needs a cleanup to feel as fresh and vibrant as the hotel and lagoon. I have to give the site kudos however for adhering to one of the cardinal rules of having an easily accessed photo/video gallery. Overall the site isn’t that bad, but it’s a shame that the site isn’t as well put together as it could be.

Overall I would give the site a C.
